 Cape Cod Sea Glass Bathroom

Sea shells are abundant on the beaches of  Cape Cod, sea glass not so much.  It’s the thrill of the hunt that keeps me searching for a rare tumbled smooth shard of glass. What I’m really attracted to is the cool shades of greens and blues.

 I am not alone in my love of sea glass.

Continuing with the Cape Cod Beach House Series, this is the fabric for the bath off the Master Bedroom. We use three fabrics in a very simple cotton twill, very beach like.  We used sky blue, sandy beige and glass green for this sea glass bathroom.

The client purchased Blocks by Martha Stewart for the shower curtain and bath accessories. The colors are like sea glass.  We used this as our inspiration. I love how it brings in the blue from the bedroom.

Note- I am an understanding and practical designer.  I get it that not everything can be custom.  It’s great when the client falls in love with something and purchases it.  It is then my mission to enhance it and make it even better.  Designing in collaboration is what it’s all about.

Here’s a detail of the buttons on the color block valance.  I’m an expert at window treatments but not at photography so the true colors don’t show very well here.  The buttons are a sandy beige, the inside of the pleat is a sea glass green.

Here’s the valance in the sea glass bathroom. A simple style adds interest by using three colors in this Cape Cod sea glass bathroom. Underneath is a Hunter Douglas Duette® Architella in a Top Down/Bottom Up style.  It’s motorized too!  A quick tap on the remote lets just the right amount of light in while applying make-up.

Unfortunately, there is not a shot of the whole bathroom so you can see how well the valance colors play off the shower curtain.
